About the position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and auditing finished products and raw materials to ensure compliance with established quality standards. This role involves performing inspections on production lines, identifying non-conformities, and proposing improvements to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform start to finish Customer-Focused Inspection and Audits on production lines.
  • Inspect production units using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, examining functionality and visual conformance to requirements.
  • Ensure that production lines adhere to standards and procedures and comply with Quality Requirements.
  • Review product/process drawings and specifications in evaluating manufactured items.
  • Identify non-conforming issues and submit reports to the manager/supervisor.
  • Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-work, and input data into quality records.
  • Help train production associates on quality control measures to improve product and process excellence.
  • Propose improvements to the production process for Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is operated safely to produce product meeting specifications.
  • Develop self and improve job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
  • Maintain and ensure measurement equipment is operating accurately by following calibration requirements.
  • Perform any additional Quality duties essential to maintaining compliance with our QMS, as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in quality production environment in related industry is required with working knowledge of quality control techniques.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure to specifications.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices such as gauges, tape measure, meters, calipers.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of target market, consumer needs, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read product/process, quality drawings along with documentation and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable standing or walking on the plant floor for the duration of the shift.
  • Competent in the use of computers including Microsoft Office applications.
