About the position

The Quality Technician at Nestlé's Quality Assurance Center in Dublin, OH plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of food and beverage products. This position involves performing laboratory tests, coordinating with other technicians, and maintaining quality assurance processes to meet regulatory standards. The technician will work with minimal supervision, document results, and assist in training other associates, contributing to a collaborative and agile work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to laboratory department by performing and/or coordinating a variety of laboratory processes.
  • Register and prepare samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing, and physical homogenization.
  • Prep and perform routine to more complex analyses per NQAC methods.
  • Read and record results of analyses, ensuring identification numbers match with correct samples.
  • Review and approve results for analytical testing as needed.
  • Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, and autoclave.
  • Prepare and assure accuracy of standards and reagents needed for analyses.
  • Generate, record, and calculate data from tests.
  • Perform routine lab and department maintenance to keep the area clean and orderly.
  • Conduct preliminary interpretations of data or observations and draft short reports to supervisor.
  • Assure quality of results by assisting with establishment and maintenance of QA documents, plans, and ICPs.
  • Document QA data and report to lead or management.
  • Identify and resolve process problems and participate in Lean Laboratory initiatives.
  • Attend internal and external training programs as assigned by management.
  • Provide on-the-job instruction under direct supervision of other technicians or scientists.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in closely related science preferred (i.e. Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, etc.).
  • Relevant academic coursework or 1 year practical relevant experience in an analytical laboratory preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic English language skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to perform trained tasks at an above base level efficiency pace.
  • Ability to review and synthesize conclusions from analytical data.
  • Contributes to a team environment and builds effective relationships.
  • Ability to execute non-routine tasks with little supervision.
