About the position
The Ready Mix Driver position at Preferred Materials involves driving concrete mixers to various work sites while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires maintaining a clean vehicle, unloading concrete, and performing physical tasks in diverse conditions. The driver must also adhere to company policies and safety regulations, contributing to a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge load.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle by hosing it down.
- Unload concrete and attach extension chutes weighing 30-50 pounds.
- Perform regular lifting of 25-50 pounds.
- Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
- Deliver to operating paver, roller, broom tractor, and concrete curb/gutter machine.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Class A or B driver's license with current medical card (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Minimal moving violations.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain respectful relationships with staff.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, sales tickets, and operating instructions.
