About the position
The Ready Mix Driver is responsible for transporting concrete from the plant to various work sites while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, operating in diverse conditions, and performing physical tasks related to loading and unloading materials. The position emphasizes safety and requires adherence to company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge load.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met by complying with legislation and company policies.
- Hose down the rig to keep it clean between trips.
- Walk on uneven and slippery surfaces at work sites and the plant.
- Lift and attach extension chutes weighing 30 to 50 pounds to the primary chute.
- Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
- Lift and move transported materials as needed.
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and shovels.
Requirements
- 1 year of related experience or training.
- Class A or B driver's license with current medical card (or ability to obtain one).
- No DUI's within the last 2 years and minimal moving violations.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain respectful relationships with staff.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
