About the position

The Recruitment Coordinator at the University of South Carolina is responsible for overseeing participant recruitment for research projects, including training and supervising part-time recruitment staff and student volunteers. This role involves liaising with community partners, managing recruitment events, and ensuring compliance with research protocols. The coordinator will also assist in developing recruitment reports and maintaining data files related to recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment of participants by identifying recruitment opportunities/events and scheduling recruitment calls and orientation sessions.
  • Serve as a liaison with all community partners to facilitate recruitment efforts.
  • Train undergraduate students to set up recruitment events and assist with calling and screening families for enrollment in the project.
  • Distribute and update recruitment materials, including flyers and business cards, at community events.
  • Work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure adherence to protocols during recruitment activities and assist in developing weekly recruitment reports.

Requirements

  • Typically holds a high school diploma or GED.
  • Requires 2 or more years of experience in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of social-science data collection methods including interviews and archival analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer programming for record systems and data management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Ability to conduct systematic evaluations and maintain organized data management systems.
