About the position

The Refugee Resettlement Case Manager at Jewish Social Services (JSS) is responsible for providing case management and cultural orientation support to newly arrived immigrants, ensuring their integration and stability. This role involves individualized services to help refugees and asylees achieve self-sufficiency, as well as organizing mental health and psychosocial support group programming.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strengths-based, goal-oriented service plans for clients to support their stability and integration.
  • Provide comprehensive case management, including advocacy and coordination of access to benefits, medical care, and education services.
  • Conduct home visits and facilitate community navigation and social support networks for clients.
  • Plan and assist with Mental Health and Psychosocial Support group programming using tested curriculum.
  • Deliver tailored orientation sessions to individuals and groups, assessing participants' progress and retention of content.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Office of Refugee Resettlement's Preferred Communities program and stay informed of updates and training opportunities.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation for each case file in accordance with grant requirements.
  • Create data and narrative program reports on grant outcomes and programmatic successes.
  • Collaborate with agency programs and community organizations to meet client and agency goals.
  • Provide information and referrals to clients as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of best practices in medical and mental health case management and immigrant integration strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of trauma-informed case management experience.
  • Experience working with immigrants and refugees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with preliterate individuals and those learning English.
  • Strong computer and writing skills for effective case file maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people of all ages.
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Safe driving record, current WI driver's license, and access to a vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with refugees and vulnerable communities served.
  • Fluency in Farsi/Dari, Pashto, Swahili, Spanish, Arabic, Tigrinya, or French.
