About the position

The Research Assistant I position in the Department of Neurosurgery at UTHealth Houston involves supporting various research projects related to epilepsy and tumor studies. Responsibilities

  • Conduct research activities under close supervision according to research protocols.
  • Recruit and screen patients for studies.
  • Perform data collection in the epilepsy monitoring unit.
  • Clean and maintain newly collected data using computer software programs.
  • Conduct simple data analyses as instructed using computer software programs.
  • Maintain data recording and stimulation computers.
  • Order laboratory supplies as needed.
  • Communicate with collaborating labs on shared projects.
  • Update notebooks, records, and databases as required.
  • Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants to ensure timely and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • General knowledge of research fields.
