About the position

The Resident Support Specialist at Vision House plays a crucial role in supporting families experiencing homelessness by assisting with daily operations of the Family Program. This position involves helping families during their move-in and move-out processes, preparing apartments for new residents, and providing support for program classes and events. The Specialist ensures the consistent delivery of program services and fills in for other staff as needed, contributing to a trauma-informed and client-driven care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for clients/residents demonstrating a trauma-informed, client-driven, strengths-based, and team approach in philosophy of care.
  • Assist with the move-in process, including lease signing and orientation for residents.
  • Prepare apartments for new families, stocking them with necessary housewares and linens, utilizing volunteer support when available.
  • Facilitate a positive and engaging program environment for both youth and adults.
  • Assist with case management, supporting residents with housing applications and providing resources and advocacy as needed.
  • Assist with childcare as needed.
  • Update client database tracking system (Apricot) and client case notes in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular apartment inspections to ensure safety and program compliance.
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, copying, and organizing.
  • Communicate maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Assist with data entry for program statistics and evaluations.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and case staffing meetings.
  • Report concerns about abuse/neglect to the Site Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident families per program policies/procedures.
  • Accept donations when needed.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup for staff meetings, collaborative meetings, classes, and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of staff in a participatory environment.
  • Experience with administrative support, including data entry and file management.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule depending on program needs.
  • Experience working with children and families who are at risk or experiencing homelessness (preferred).
  • Experience working with diverse and/or special needs populations (preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within the first three months of hire date.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be an active follower of Jesus Christ and have the ability to sign the Statement of Faith.

  • $22.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE
