About the position
The Respite Provider role involves providing care and companionship to a teenage client, allowing their parent some time for self-care. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and a fun environment, where the provider engages in various activities with the client while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct respite care in the member's home.
- Facilitate community outings once rapport is established.
- Ensure the safety of the client while under supervision.
- Utilize adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs and Hoyer lifts as needed.
- Assist with G Tube feedings when required.
- Engage with the teen in enjoyable activities such as walks, music, reading, and cooking.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and/or reliable transportation preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
- Must pass a background check.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of caregiving experience preferred.
