About the position
The RN Nurse Practitioner at DHR Health is primarily responsible for assessing, evaluating, and treating patients in a medical office setting under the supervision of a physician. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills to diagnose health problems, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians for further care management. Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, and treat patients in a medical office setting under physician supervision.
- Identify abnormal conditions and diagnose health problems using advanced knowledge and skills.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with or refer patients to a physician for further care management.
- Perform complete and accurate history and physical assessments for patients.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, communicating results to patients.
- Prescribe appropriate treatments and pharmacological agents as needed.
- Provide direct patient and family education regarding medical conditions and treatment methodologies.
- Determine the effectiveness of care plans and modify as necessary to achieve health goals.
- Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, and compliance audits.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for professional nursing with a BSN degree required, MSN preferred.
- Successful completion of a nurse practitioner program.
- National certification preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) Texas license and Nurse Practitioner license required.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a nurse practitioner in a medical office practice preferred.
- Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with excellent customer service skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
