About the position

The RN Nurse Practitioner at DHR Health is primarily responsible for assessing, evaluating, and treating patients in a medical office setting under the supervision of a physician. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills to diagnose health problems, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians for further care management. The position emphasizes a commitment to patient care excellence and adherence to healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, and treat patients in a medical office setting under physician supervision.
  • Identify abnormal conditions and diagnose health problems using advanced knowledge and skills.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with or refer patients to a physician for further care management.
  • Perform complete and accurate history and physical assessments for patients.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, communicating results to patients.
  • Prescribe appropriate treatments and pharmacological agents as needed.
  • Provide direct patient and family education regarding medical conditions and treatment methodologies.
  • Determine the effectiveness of care plans and modify as necessary to achieve health goals.
  • Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, and compliance audits.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for professional nursing with a BSN degree required, MSN preferred.
  • Successful completion of a nurse practitioner program.
  • National certification preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Texas license and Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a nurse practitioner in a medical office practice preferred.
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with excellent customer service skills.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory position is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
