The RN Surgical Acute position at Sequoia Hospital involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a surgical acute setting. Responsibilities

• Perform nursing functions including assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Obtain and check consents, vitals, and observe cardiac monitors during procedures.
• Operate suction, oxygen, and power injectors while maintaining patient comfort during radiographic procedures.
• Assist in invasive procedures and provide follow-up care and education to patients.
• Coordinate patient schedules to ensure safe and efficient performance of procedures.
• Address psychosocial needs of patients and act as an educator and resource for patients and families.
• Assist in nursing administrative duties and maintain procedure manuals.

Requirements

• One to two years of clinical nursing experience, waived for newly graduated nurses in a New Grad Orientation program.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for healthcare providers.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
