About The Position

The PACU RN at St. Joseph Hospital is responsible for the care of post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia. This role involves monitoring, assessing, and intervening in the care of patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during recovery. The PACU RN collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and provides emotional support and education to patients and their families.

Requirements

• Associates in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State.
• BLS certification required for all RNs.
• ACLS certification required for all perioperative areas.
• PALS certification required for ED and PACU.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recover, assess, and monitor post-operative patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Administer medication and manage overall care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Partner with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
