About the position

The RN Wound Clinic position at HonorHealth is a per diem role focused on providing specialized care in an outpatient clinic setting. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, particularly for those with wound care needs. This role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure high-quality care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Record patients' medical history and symptoms.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results.
  • Operate medical equipment and administer treatment and medications.
  • Establish or contribute to patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and therapies, ensuring correct dosages and avoiding interactions.
  • Observe patients and document observations accurately.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare clinicians as needed.
  • Teach patients and families about managing illnesses or injuries and post-treatment care.
  • Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care.
  • Precept new hire staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills.
  • Enhance personal knowledge in nursing management and patient care.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and improve patient experiences.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution.
  • More than 10 months of experience in a med-surg or acute specialty setting.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience for float positions.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State and/or Compact State Licensure in Arizona upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in wound care or outpatient clinic settings.
  • Knowledge of stroke care protocols and pathways.
