About the position

The Rooms Inspector at Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is responsible for leading housekeeping teams, inspecting rooms, and ensuring the smooth operation of the housekeeping department. This role involves working closely with the Executive Housekeeper and other hotel departments to maintain high cleanliness and quality standards, while also providing excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train and supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons in a designated area.
• Ensure all rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness and quality standards.
• Support the daily operation of the housekeeping department, including opening/closing of the office and leading morning stand-up meetings.
• Assess room inventory and assign rooms for cleaning.
• Inspect rooms and verify/report status and discrepancies.
• Monitor linen rooms, carts, and designated inventories.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Department for maintenance and repair of guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform Room Attendant, Houseperson, or laundry duties as needed.
• Greet guests in a friendly manner and address any issues to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

• One year of experience as a housekeeper or cleaner is required.
• Room inspection or supervisory experience is highly desired.
• Strong guest service skills and clear communication abilities are essential.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including handling guest complaints.
• Time management skills and strong attention to detail are critical.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English; knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Physically able to move and operate large objects, such as housekeeping carts and furniture.
• Ability to use MS Office and other computer-based platforms.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion with help.
