About the position

The RT Vent Field Clinician is a part-time Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing respiratory care to ventilator patients in various settings. This role focuses on ensuring optimal patient outcomes through preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care, while also educating patients and collaborating with healthcare teams. The clinician will utilize available resources to meet care objectives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to ventilator patients in alternate sites according to AdaptHealth's policies.
• Educate patients and communicate with healthcare teams, physicians, and referral sources.
• Maintain accurate patient files and documentation in compliance with company standards.
• Assist with authorization for ventilator referrals and participate in discharge planning.
• Perform clinical assessments and report findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Conduct in-services for hospital staff and other professionals regarding respiratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and hazardous materials handling procedures.
• Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours as per company policy.
• Evaluate ventilator patients' records and ensure accuracy of prescriptions and care plans.
• Document patient care activities and interventions accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Associates degree from an AMA approved respiratory program.
• Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification is required.
• One year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license.

• Competent in ventilator, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to adapt and be flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
