About the position

The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols and practices at a Google data center in Fort Wayne, IN. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong background in construction safety management, particularly in relation to electrical contractors. The position is contract-based with a focus on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and providing training and support to employees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations.
• Provide safety training as needed.
• Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices.
• Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence.
• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required within the manager's skills and certifications.

Requirements

• 5+ years in construction safety management and data center and/or electrical contractor safety oversight experience.
• Current OSHA 510 certification and BCSP certification preferred.
• Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
• Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction.

Nice-to-haves

• OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
