About the position

The Sanitation position at Algood Food Company is responsible for overseeing and assisting the sanitation department in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation protocols while supporting the core values of the organization. The position requires effective communication and documentation skills to manage sanitation records and address any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist employees in the sanitation department with their duties.
• Develop and maintain sanitation records and documentation.
• Ensure all chemicals are labeled and stored securely.
• Comply with safety procedures and participate in safety training.
• Use equipment, tools, and PPE safely and efficiently.
• Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures when necessary.
• Report any injury, incident, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to a supervisor.
• Monitor and correct violations in assigned areas according to GMPs.
• Communicate sanitation issues to supervisor/management.
• Assist in creating, developing, improving, and completing SSOPs for the company.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Use a forklift, aerial lift, and/or ride-on floor scrubber as needed.
• Maintain and communicate the status of waste and recycling goods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of food manufacturing experience.
• Ability to operate scissor lift, aerial lift, forklift, floor scrubber, and floor buffer.
• Must have Blood Pathogen training.
• Ability to maintain full concentration under time pressures and interruptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SQF and HACCP programs.
• Knowledge of pest control procedures.
