About The Position

The School Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing dedicated one-on-one nursing care to a special needs student in a school setting in Bergen County, NJ. The role includes assisting with healthcare needs during school hours and transportation, ensuring the student's health and safety while advocating for their educational needs.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse in New Jersey with a valid and active Nursing license.
• Current CPR Card to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
• One (1) year of professional experience as a Nurse.
• Willingness to obtain NJ Department of Education Fingerprints (reimbursement provided).
• Experience with diabetes management.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one nursing care to students with special medical needs, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and addressing health concerns or emergencies.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel.
• Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on the student's health status and progress.
• Advocate for the student's health and educational needs within the school setting.
• Provide healthcare support during school bus transportation, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assess students' health status and administer medications or medical treatments during transportation.
• Communicate effectively with bus drivers, school administrators, and parents regarding transportation logistics and health-related concerns.
• Ensure necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and maintained on school buses.
