About the position
The Security Dispatcher/Monitor position at Four Queens Hotel and Casino is responsible for responding to security-related calls, monitoring CCTV cameras, and coordinating communication during emergencies. The role requires effective multitasking, strong communication skills, and the ability to assess security threats to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
Responsibilities
- Respond to calls requiring security actions or assistance and alert appropriate staff.
- Notify officers of activity requiring security presence by providing descriptions of events on the property.
- Handle emergency and non-emergency calls from customers and employees, logging all calls in the required format.
- Monitor CCTV cameras to identify potential threats and disturbances.
- Answer phone calls from guests and departments, ensuring great guest service and responding to needs.
- Analyze the severity of security threats before contacting police, firefighters, or medical personnel.
- Track incoming emergency calls and dispatch aid according to need, documenting in the system.
- Monitor radio calls and life safety systems during emergencies, coordinating communications among agencies and internal security.
- Assess potential threats from callers and evaluate them as high, medium, or low.
- Assign day-to-day job tasks to officers and document all radio transmissions in the daily log.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High school diploma (GED) or equivalent degree.
- 3-5 years' experience in a related field such as law enforcement, fire protection, public safety, or military service.
- Knowledgeable about computer systems.
- Ability to work overtime hours if necessary.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Must be able to lift/hold objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Efficient in multitasking and typing skills of 35 WPM.
- Energetic with professional phone etiquette and a positive attitude.
