About the position

The Security Officer position is a part-time role focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive in their approach to security, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of responding effectively to emergencies. Responsibilities include monitoring premises, conducting patrols, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of the premises.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
  • Utilize CCTV and surveillance systems to monitor activities within the facility.
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, or irregularities observed during shifts.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide assistance in conflict management situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques when required.
  • Administer first aid or CPR as needed in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in law enforcement or loss prevention is preferred.
  • Certification in security-related fields is a plus (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is highly desirable.
  • Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • A military background is advantageous but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with people that have mental health issues is a plus.
  • CIT certification by the State of Texas is required.
