About the position

The Security Operations Manager is a field supervisor/manager level position responsible for overseeing security operations across multiple smaller programs in the DC/MD/VA region. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the role includes providing field support, conducting training for security personnel, and managing quality assurance and quality control for security services. This uniformed position holds the rank of Captain and requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure effective security operations and personnel management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Field Supervisor providing support to the Director of Operations on all security operations related matters.
  • Conduct training and development of field security personnel as the Training Instructor/Coordinator.
  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on assigned personnel and worksites.
  • Develop weekly Operating Schedule and coordinate post coverage for security personnel.
  • Manage timekeeping functions for on-duty security personnel.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and problem-solving options to security personnel.
  • Keep records and prepare accurate and timely reports including daily activity logs and incident reports.
  • Conduct routine reviews of Guard Management Systems and relevant CCTV footage.
  • Enforce Standards of Conduct and Administration of Discipline policies.
  • Provide orientation for newly hired security personnel and maintain training records.
  • Conduct follow-up on field inspections to verify adherence to policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Verifiable security-related leadership experience, preferably in a multi-shift/multi-site operation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Performance Work Statement and applicable company policies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to improve.
  • Ability to function independently and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Ability to follow directions and perform multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation for commuting and regional job-related travel.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain certifications and training.
