About the position

The Security Specialist at Eaglecrest High School is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for students and staff. This role involves monitoring student behavior, enforcing school policies, and intervening in conflicts to foster an optimal learning atmosphere. The position requires high visibility on campus, monitoring security cameras, assisting in emergencies, and reporting unsafe conditions. The specialist may work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, and is assigned to specific locations within the district as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety and security of the students and campus by providing high visibility throughout the school.
  • Monitor students during lunch hour inside and outside of the building and during off hours.
  • Assist site administrators in the investigation of illegal activity within the school using security cameras and performing searches.
  • Assist staff and students during crisis situations.
  • Discuss and mediate infractions with students, providing written accounts of incidents to administrators.
  • Report unsafe conditions and potential health and safety hazards to administrators.
  • Supervise students in study hall, in-school suspension, and/or after-school detention.
  • Provide security at sporting events and other extracurricular activities outside of school hours.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic organizational and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to work alone and collaboratively in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to prioritize student safety and customer service.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

  • Bilingual (English and additional language).
  • Basic knowledge of Raptor® Visitor Management.
