The Server position at Black Bear Diner involves providing friendly and prompt service to create a positive dining experience for guests. The role focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction through attentive service and effective communication.
Welcome and greet guests.
Make all guests feel comfortable and personally take care of them.
Inform guests of specials and feature items.
Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services.
Take food and beverage orders and enter them in the point-of-sale system.
Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
Run food orders from the pick-up window promptly.
Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned.
Maintain clean service areas.
Monitor and observe guests' dining experience.
Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service.
Respond promptly and courteously to requests.
Pre-bus tables frequently.
Prepare bill and present check to guests at the appropriate point in service sequence.
Clean and reset tables promptly.
Clean chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet.
Assist fellow servers as needed.
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
Possess verbal and language skills to understand and communicate with guests.
Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
Possess basic math skills and operate a point-of-sale system.
Ability to handle money accurately.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours).
Be able to safely lift and maneuver plates of food and supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
