Kodomo, a modern Japanese cuisine restaurant located in Roslyn, NY, is seeking motivated individuals for various roles including Head Bartender, Captain Servers, Hosts, Barbacks, Server Assistants, and Runners. Responsibilities

• Accommodate to the highest level of professional and exceptional service.
• Present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions for food and beverage items.
• Follow supervisor's instructions and support co-workers as a team player.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of beverage programs and overall beverage knowledge.
• Serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
• Communicate guest needs to FOH/BOH support staff, managers, and chefs.
• Set bar with proper equipment and settings as required.
• Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings and training sessions.
• Portray a positive and professional attitude and demonstrate knowledge of Kodomo Hospitality.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a New York City fine dining establishment for Captain Server role.
• Ability to master the Toast point-of-sale (POS) computer system.
• Effective time, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to learn and improve knowledge in wine, food, and service.
• Pleasant and positive work ethic and demeanor.
• Clear writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
• Impeccable personal grooming habits as outlined by management.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced understanding of wine service (Certified level is not required but ideal).
• Experience in staff education.
