About the position
The Shipping and Crating Specialist is responsible for assembling crates and packing products for shipment in a warehouse environment. This role requires proficiency in operating forklifts and pneumatic tools, as well as a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing and shipping of materials. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, and emphasizes teamwork and self-motivation.
Responsibilities
- Pack product into pre-cut crates for domestic or foreign shipment.
- Verify shipment for correct materials and handling instructions.
- Load product and related parts onto trucks and/or flatbeds.
- Perform assemblies of crates using pneumatic nail guns and staplers.
- Prepare and crate doors and parts orders for shipment per specifications.
- Pull stock components such as small parts, hardware, and weldments.
- Check shipment for correct materials, packing, crating, tagging, and handling instructions.
- Operate forklift to load crates safely into trucks, vans, or flatbeds.
- Maintain general housekeeping practices in receiving and storage areas.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in building crates and working in a warehouse/shipping environment.
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift and pneumatic nail gun.
- Ability to read ruler measurements accurately.
- High school diploma or GED desired; or two to four years related experience and/or training.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with air ratchets and staplers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
