About the position

The Software QA Technical Lead position is a senior-level role focused on overseeing and enhancing software testing disciplines within the NCCRIS project. This hybrid position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to guide the Enterprise Test Team in delivering effective testing strategies and practices across the organization. The Technical Lead will be responsible for advising on best practices, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring quality control throughout the testing lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the completion of activities required to implement, maintain, and support moderate to complex testing disciplines.
  • Direct and coordinate the creation of scripts using programming languages supported by the Micro Focus Software Testing Suite for functional and performance testing.
  • Facilitate the acceptance of new software testing disciplines across the enterprise.
  • Coordinate quality control lifecycle activities for testing service projects, including monitoring project scope and change control processes.
  • Collaborate with IT management to develop plans for software testing disciplines for the T/NCCRIS Project.
  • Research and maintain a current understanding of available and evolving software testing tools, processes, and techniques.
  • Assist IT Manager with collecting, organizing, and communicating service-related information through dashboards and reports.

Requirements

  • 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group testing business web applications and complex business applications across technologies.
  • 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group or team designing test plans, manual test case definition, and test case execution.
  • 15 Years Experience in a leadership role leading a group or team using OpenText Testing Tools Suite (ALM, UFT, LoadRunner/Performance Center, and SiteScope).
  • 15 Years Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate actionable results for test analysis, issues identified, and proposed resolutions to the team.
  • 15 Years Able to react and reorganize work assignments of lower-level test team staff and adapt their workload to changes in project requirements.
  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related Information Technology concentration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from a post-secondary college or university with a M.S. Degree in business or technology.
