About the position

The Sputtering Equipment Operator at Erickson Sputtering LLC is responsible for producing high-quality sputtered thin film metals, metal-oxides, and metal nitrides on PET films within a vacuum coating roll-to-roll operation. This role involves ensuring the operational control of the sputtering process, maintaining equipment, and documenting production runs to meet quality specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with equipment maintenance personnel to ensure the vacuum chamber and its associated support equipment is clean and properly maintained.
  • Provide operational control of the sputtering/thin film deposition process to ensure film specifications are met.
  • Adjust power levels, monitor gas supply inputs, film line speeds, and Plasma Emission Monitor (PEM) process feedback.
  • Document process conditions and track production runs.
  • Document raw material usage levels and assist in the development of cost models for products.
  • Collaborate with production schedulers to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials is on hand.

Requirements

  • Computer operational skills in Excel, Word, and basic process monitoring software.
  • Attention to detail is very important.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Solid basic math skills.
  • Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs.
  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs regularly.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 to 5 years of experience or training in the operations of industrial equipment preferred.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a starting pay of $18-$19 per hour based on experience.
  • 40 hours per week with occasional overtime required.
