About the position

The Superintendent for Multifamily Projects is responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project administration staff and engineers, collaborating with project managers, and ensuring adherence to project estimates and safety goals. The Superintendent will also handle problem resolution related to labor disputes, staffing, and materials, while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and directing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Directing and supervising work of construction project administration staff and construction engineers.
  • Working in partnership with project managers to establish operational priorities.
  • Forecasting, tracking, and reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to construction project estimates.
  • Resolving problems involving labor disputes, staffing, construction materials, and contracts/subcontracts administration.
  • Coordinating with the construction Safety Manager to ensure projects meet established safety goals.
  • Maintaining appropriate construction documentation such as RFI logs and change orders.
  • Building strong relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant Project Managers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Construction Superintendent role.
  • Experience with multifamily projects highly preferred.
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Project portfolio demonstrating completion of projects of varying size and scope.
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Proficient in reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
