About the position
The Teacher Assistant position at East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is a part-time role focused on supporting Lead Teachers and Program Facilitators in various educational settings. The role involves working with students in grades K-8, assisting in before and after school licensed childcare, enrichment programs, and school vacation camps. The ideal candidate will promote a positive learning environment and uphold the program's mission while providing essential support to educators and students.
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teachers and Program Facilitators in before and after school licensed childcare.
- Support after school enrichment programs and school vacation camps.
- Supervise students in a positive manner.
- Maintain the philosophy and mission of the program.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certification.
- Formal training related to child or youth development or at least one year of supervised experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
- Preferred: Associate degree and/or Teacher Assistant Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly encouraged.
