About the position

The Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) position in Red Lion, PA, is focused on supporting elementary students in grades K-4 with hearing impairments. This role involves conducting assessments, developing lesson plans, and delivering instruction tailored to the unique needs of these students. The TDHH will collaborate with school staff to foster an inclusive learning environment and maintain communication with parents and professionals regarding student progress.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' hearing and language development.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans that accommodate the unique needs of students with hearing impairments in an elementary school setting.
• Work directly with students in grades K-4 to support their educational needs.
• Ensure all instructional activities are aligned with IEP goals and tailored to individual student needs.
• Collaborate with school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents and other professionals as needed.

Requirements

• Must have PA teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).
• Experience working with elementary-aged children (grades K-4) in a special education or hearing-impaired setting.
• Ability to develop lesson plans and deliver lessons effectively to students with hearing impairments.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Fingerprinting required as per PA state regulations.
