About the position
The K-5th Grade Substitute Teacher at Ingenium Charter School is responsible for providing instructional support during teacher absences, ensuring continuity in the learning process for students. This role requires flexibility to teach various subjects and grade levels while fostering a positive classroom environment. The teacher will engage with students, families, and colleagues to promote academic and social-emotional success, adhering to Ingenium's educational philosophy and practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a substitute teacher for short or long-term teacher absences.
- Implement lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Build relationships with students and families to support academic and behavioral success.
- Create a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Utilize educational technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student performance and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings.
- Assist with school events and student recruitment activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Valid California multiple subjects teaching credential preferred.
- 30-Day Emergency Substitute Teaching Credential accepted.
- English Language Learner Authorization preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (provided by Ingenium post-hire).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with distance learning preferred.
- Knowledge of California Common Core State Standards.
- Experience in curriculum design.
