About the position

The Carter Center's Global Behavioral Health Program is seeking a temporary Data Analyst to support the development and refinement of a dashboard that will aid decision-making for various stakeholders in Liberia and other countries. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, providing technical support, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the dashboard's functionality and design.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a data dictionary and metadata.
  • Support the development and maintenance of data standards.
  • Ensure accuracy in data usage through reports and queries.
  • Assist in business and system re-engineering to define future data needs.
  • Provide expertise as an organizational consultant on database matters.
  • Provide technical support for dashboard implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Mental Health Program to meet design expectations.
  • Track progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders during weekly meetings.
  • Implement feedback from stakeholders to improve the dashboard.
  • Automate data integration into the dashboard for sustainability.
  • Clean and manipulate data for dashboard input, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Produce and manipulate dummy data for design concepts lacking supporting data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including building dashboards.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, R, SAS, etc.
  • Strong project management skills to manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience navigating data accessibility in resource-limited settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analysis, or relevant fields.
  • Experience working with INGOs, development organizations, global think tanks, government agencies, civil society organizations, and/or foundations.
