About The Position

The Traffic Analyst role at Albertsons Companies is focused on supporting retail divisions by managing operational ownership to ensure timely service delivery at the lowest cost. This position involves collaboration with carrier partners and internal customers throughout the load management process, encompassing all aspects of freight management from load building to invoicing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a Business-related field preferred.
• 2+ years of transportation operations experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong working knowledge of business analysis and implementation.

Nice To Haves

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to review operational reports to identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Experience in building relationships with internal partners to create positive outcomes and increase service.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operational accountability for the company's truckload, LTL, and intermodal programs, including dry and perishable commodities.
• Tender shipments to carriers following routing guides.
• Negotiate spot rates and resolve service issues with carriers.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external customers to achieve least cost/on-time delivery service.
• Communicate with buyers, vendors, and warehouse personnel regarding order changes and problem resolution.
• Maintain working knowledge of freight claim liability and resolution.
• Understand DOT rules and regulations.
• Analyze transportation costs per lane and commodity.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
