About the position

The Training Specialist for the Green Construction Program at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington plays a crucial role in coordinating the DC Pre-Apprenticeship Construction program. This position involves preparing lesson plans, conducting training sessions, providing tutoring support, and maintaining student records. The specialist collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met and assists in the overall development and success of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Program Supervisor in publicity, outreach, student enrollment, orientation, and operations in accord with project quality standards.
  • Conduct classroom training sessions.
  • Act as a substitute teacher in the absence of instructors.
  • Participate in regular meetings with teachers, students, and coordinators.
  • Provide student support for site visits for the program and students (educational, Habitat training).
  • Provide tutoring support as needed to students in the classroom.
  • Administer student tests and evaluate test results including CASAS, PACT, and NCEER curriculum.
  • Assist coordinator in keeping track of student certifications.
  • Assist in administering satisfaction surveys to students and contractors.
  • Collaborate with team members from the Workforce Development Program ensuring clients have needed resources and support to prepare, gain and retain employment.
  • Conduct client intake, assessment, client follow-up, and upkeep of program files ensuring adherence to project quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain statistical program data in Case Worthy including modifications to present reports and systems as needed.
  • Report accurate statistics including program outputs and outcomes.
  • Locate and compile program data to include formatting reports, graphs, tables, records, and other sources of information.
  • Prepare required reports, program surveys, and promotional materials.
  • Help prepare grant monitoring reports.
  • Administer satisfaction surveys to clients.
  • Prepare promotional material for programs.
  • Collaborate with instructors and consultants in the preparation of lesson plans.
  • Attend Agency meetings, community seminars, outreach events, and government as well as private foundations events.
  • Participate in quality improvement and actively comply with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform appropriate tasks and quality improvement projects for accreditation (COA).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in a training environment.
  • Experience working with the Latino community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual, Spanish-English.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, or Windows-based operating environment.
