About the position
The Transport Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation for residents of a senior living community, ensuring they reach their appointments and return safely. This role emphasizes the importance of maintaining the quality of care and life for residents while promoting a positive environment within the community.
Responsibilities
- Drive residents to and from appointments and wait for them during the appointments.
- Assist residents on and off the vehicle, including pushing wheelchairs as necessary.
- Follow and uphold the community's philosophy to enhance each resident's quality of care and life.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the community.
- Attend and participate in facility meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
- Observe residents' rights, including privacy and dignity.
- Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.
- Assist in coordinating scheduling and daily appointments.
- Complete any other assignments, including tasks assigned to other departments.
Requirements
- Clean driving record and ability to safely operate an oversized van with wheelchair lift.
- May be required to obtain a commercial driver's license or chauffeur's license depending on local or state requirements.
