The IT Business Analyst II at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) plays a crucial role in analyzing business requirements and improving existing systems to enhance motor vehicle-related services. This position involves acting as a liaison between various stakeholders, including end users and technical teams, to ensure that business needs are effectively translated into technical specifications. The role requires a combination of independent work and teamwork, with responsibilities that include documenting business processes, managing requirements, and providing support throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex business analysis work to support TxDMV's IT Services Division.
  • Act as a liaison between business operations, external stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Document and manage business requirements and process workflows.
  • Lead efforts to elicit, document, and model business requirements.
  • Analyze regulatory, business, user, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Review complex project deliverables and provide feedback.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, eliciting, developing, testing, documenting, managing, or modeling business requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical training in business analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with software development life cycle and systems development life cycle concepts.
