About the position

The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their banking needs. This role involves opening new accounts, promoting bank products, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The Universal Banker also plays a key role in relationship and business development, customer service, and branch operations.

Responsibilities

• Open new accounts and prepare necessary paperwork.
• Identify unmet needs of customers and offer appropriate products and services.
• Promote and provide information on new and enhanced products and services.
• Cross-sell products and services to customers, including joint calls with other departments.
• Participate in community events to increase bank visibility and develop business opportunities.
• Assist customers with inquiries and requests regarding their accounts.
• Process loan payments and issue transaction receipts.
• Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify endorsements, and confirm deposit slip accuracy.
• Process cash withdrawals and verify signatures and account balances.
• Answer incoming calls and assist customers appropriately.
• Receive and assist bank visitors.
• Process basic IRA transactions and follow up on pending items.
• Conduct work in accordance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
• Balance and replenish cash in ATM and manage working cash at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Sort and distribute work from other offices and process mail transactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of banking experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Notary preferred.
