About the position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at ShiftMed, a healthcare staffing company that connects nurses with local healthcare facilities. The RN will have the flexibility to choose their work schedule, including the option to work per diem, short-term, long-term, or permanent shifts. The role involves delivering safe and compassionate care to diverse patient populations in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the identified plan; coordinate care delivery; employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluate progress towards attainment of outcomes.
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Evaluate one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines.
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Integrate evidence-based nursing and research into practice.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing care.
  • Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and profession.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1 year of experience required for ED and MED/SURG.
  • 2 years of experience required for ICU, with some SICU experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Annual physical examination.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
