About the position
The UX Research Lead for Google Home is responsible for advocating excellent research practices and generating awareness of the value of UX research within the organization. This role involves driving and executing research to influence product strategy and vision across the Home portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional leadership, and managing senior-level contributors and teams to ensure research insights are integrated into product development cycles.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for excellent research practices and generate awareness of UX research value.
- Drive and execute research to influence product strategy and vision across the Home portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to ensure research influences product experience.
- Create alignment across different product areas to build consensus and shared vision.
- Manage senior level individual contributors and managers, providing leadership and strategic direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in an applied research setting or similar.
- 5 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 10 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership.
- 7 years of experience managing projects in a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience developing and executing multiple research roadmaps as a leader.
- Ability to connect research insights to brand and product vision.
