About the position

The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is responsible for managing daily orders within strategic accounts to ensure adequate product supply and replenishment. This role emphasizes high customer service standards and involves direct interaction with customers to manage inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of Customer Service
• Visit a pre-determined list of customers daily who require Vendor Managed inventory (cylinders and hardgoods)
• Ensure accuracy of the order, pricing, and processing in JD Edwards
• Convert orders into customer purchase order format and email to purchasing department
• Write credit memos on returned hard goods while taking orders onsite
• Seek opportunities to convert customers to LG&E Express or Electronic Data Interchange payments helping to reduce transaction costs
• Identify & document Prostar conversion opportunities and review quarterly with Territory Managers
• Deliver product to customers as needed
• Communicate effectively with General Sales Manager, Territory Managers, and Distribution Supervisors
• Assist Territory Managers with cylinder audits, and visit new customer sites, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Computer skills required with emphasis on Excel (JD Edwards experience preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
