Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records for past histories, enter data into the computer, and file appropriately.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Maintain client educational material efficiently.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Take, process, and log prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy, and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications to patients as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Perform departmental housekeeping duties as required.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registered Veterinary Technician in Georgia preferred, but not required.
