About the position

Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Visual Effects Designer with a major corporation in Burbank, CA. The ideal candidate will be located in the LA area and will be able to work in a hybrid model, spending around 2 days a week in the office. This position requires onsite presence as needed to support print runs. The duration of the contract is 12 months, with a pay rate ranging from $62 to $76 per hour, depending on experience. The Visual Designer will play a crucial role in driving the design language, brand, and visual design needs across The Studios. This role is part of the Experience Design team, which is a vital group within the Strategic Operations department of the Studios' Technology organization. The successful candidate will help shape the visual design direction and develop a design language that aligns with Studio Technology, Disney, and the Studio brands. A strong understanding of how design impacts an audience and serves as a key driver of communication is essential. In this role, the Visual Designer will apply their skills and passion for design to guide the design process. They will partner with the Experience Design team to bring narratives and value propositions to life through visual presentations, artifacts, and templates, in addition to graphic and visual design in both digital and physical applications. The role also involves refining and developing the brand and style guide, ensuring that all creative aspects of projects meet stakeholders' expectations and adhere to brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for concept development for business segments within the Studios, translating complex ideas into effective design artifacts and graphics.
  • Develop brand identity elements, design standards, and style guides to ensure all creative aspects of a project meet stakeholders' expectations and our brand.
  • Ability to design and deliver all the necessary graphics, assets, (style guides, presentation templates, branding materials) and documentation for key project requests.
  • Build client presentations, with the support of the design team that delight and inspire our clients and align to our brand guidelines.
  • Must have the ability to present and articulate design direction, ideas, and concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with fellow designers (Visual, UI, UX, Product) to help evolve our design language and branding efforts.
  • Generate design work plans; accurately estimate work items and communicate dependencies and issues as necessary.
  • Participate in the development of the larger design team through dialogue, key initiatives, and collaborative projects (for example, tool and process research, template and pattern creations).
  • Inspire new ways of thinking and explore the unknown using fresh and unique approaches to design problems.

Requirements

  • Visual design with strong portfolio-brand work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Figma
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with big global or national brands
  • Degree preferred or equivalent experience
