About the position

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Create responsive designs that adapt to various screen sizes.
  • Develop custom themes for Drupal and WordPress.
  • Utilize Git for version control and collaboration on web projects.
  • Conduct user research to inform design decisions and improve user experience.
  • Organize website content logically and intuitively through information architecture.
  • Create wireframes and prototypes to visualize website structure and interactions.
  • Apply visual design principles to enhance user interface aesthetics.
  • Ensure websites are accessible to users with disabilities, following WCAG guidelines.
  • Analyze website performance using Google Analytics 4.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Graphics, or Web Design courses from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience in web design and development.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with responsive design and CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation, or Tailwind CSS.
  • Proficiency in Drupal and WordPress theme development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with user research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with information architecture concepts.
  • Ability to create wireframes and prototypes.
  • Understanding of visual design principles, including typography and color theory.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines.
