About the position

The Weekend Caregiver at Avenues Home Care of East Tennessee is responsible for providing essential support to clients in their homes, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their well-being. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of life for clients, including personal care, medication assistance, and companionship. Caregivers are expected to maintain effective communication with supervisors and adhere to company policies while delivering superior care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client's plan of care.
• Provide medication assistance and support with housekeeping services, laundry, meal preparation, and feeding.
• Transport clients to and from appointments and provide companionship.
• Report daily activity to supervisors through the agency management system and daily activity logs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and supervisors through various channels including phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions.
• Practice safety in all activities concerning Avenues Home Care clients.
• Lift or push up to 50 pounds as required by the job.
• Document any unusual behavior, events, or conditions and maintain confidentiality of records.

Requirements

• Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written assignments.
• Proficiency with Homecare Company Management System (ClearCare).
• Effective organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license, and have automobile insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• CNA License or alternate experience as a caregiver preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
