About the position

The Wellness Manager (RN or LPN) at Sonata Windermere is responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of assisted living and retirement residents. This role involves supervising nursing staff, administering medications, and ensuring high-quality care is provided to residents. The Wellness Manager will also maintain communication with the Director of Wellness and other healthcare professionals to report on patient conditions and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Home Health Aides (HHAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and facility staff.
  • Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living and retirement residents as needed.
  • Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness (DOW) or Delegating R.N./Physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor's orders accurately and safely.
  • Inform DOW of when supplies and equipment are needed and order medication from pharmacy when necessary.
  • Ensure that all nursing care is given properly, safely, and of the utmost quality by supervising the Home Health Aide.
  • Administer emergency first aid as required.
  • Assure that daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties are carried out as outlined by DOW.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care, including vital signs, weights, and medication records.
  • Recognize, interpret, and report conditions to the DOW/RN/ED as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nurse's station, medication room, and cart.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff members.
  • Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
  • Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
  • Provide guidance for nursing assistants and promote good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
  • Work experience in the geriatric field.
  • Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to deal with visitors, staff, and residents in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to lift and push/pull up to 60lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good grooming practices and punctuality in attendance.
  • Warm, friendly, congenial personality with a professional appearance and empathetic attitude towards seniors.
  • Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed.
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of state regulations regarding assisted living facilities.
