About the position

The Youth Mental Health Technician position at Northway Academy involves providing center-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities. The role focuses on supporting individuals in developing essential life skills and managing behavioral challenges, all while working within a mission-driven team environment. Responsibilities

• Run therapeutic and behavioral plans to provide early intervention for individuals.
• Provide guidance on developmental goals including communication, exercise, nutrition, and academic skills.
• Support individuals in learning and maintaining personal skills such as hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Teach and model interpersonal and social skills to help individuals thrive in their communities.
• Assist in managing and redirecting agitated or aggressive behaviors using appropriate strategies.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master's degree in a mental health field.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields with 6,000 hours of clinical experience delivering ABA services (Level 1).
• Enrolled in or hold a bachelor's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields (Level 2).
• Hold an associate's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields with at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.
• Possess a high school diploma (or GED) with 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in a non-English speaking language or certification by a tribal nation.
