About the position

The Spanish and Language Arts - Dual Language Immersion Spanish Teacher Eligibility Pool for the 2024-2025 school year is designed to attract qualified candidates who are passionate about teaching in a dual language immersion setting. This position is critical in fostering bilingualism and biliteracy among students, as well as promoting cross-cultural understanding. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both Spanish and English, ensuring that students develop proficiency in both languages while meeting the academic standards set by the district and state. Teachers in this role will engage students through a variety of instructional strategies, including collaborative learning, project-based activities, and culturally relevant pedagogy. They will also be expected to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning. Additionally, teachers will collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and assessments that align with the dual language immersion model, and they will participate in ongoing professional development to enhance their teaching practices. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in Spanish and English to students in a dual language immersion setting.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress and adapt instruction based on assessment data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and refine curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Single Subject World Languages: Spanish and English Credential or Equivalents with Bilingual Authorization in Spanish.
  • Official transcripts showing completion of a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three letters of recommendation signed and dated within the last 3 years.
  • If Intern eligible, upload an Intern Eligibility Letter and include exam results and/or proof of registration for exams (i.e. TPA, RICA, CSET).
  • If currently enrolled in a credential program, include a status letter indicating your estimated completion date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dual language immersion programs.
  • Familiarity with culturally relevant pedagogy and instructional strategies.
  • Bilingual proficiency in additional languages.
