About the position
The Bilingual Spanish speaking Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services plays a crucial role in supporting plasma donors, particularly Spanish-speaking individuals. This position involves determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with medical and safety regulations. The specialist works under the supervision of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, contributing to a safe and efficient plasma donation process.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations.
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions according to SOPs.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable findings.
- Support vaccination programs for employees, including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health as needed.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
- Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
