About the position

WorldKids School of Edmonds is seeking a dynamic and energetic Spanish Childcare Teacher to join our team in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will be a native-level Spanish speaker with prior experience in preschool teaching. Our school caters to children aged eight weeks to five years, and we are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the overall development of our students. The Spanish Childcare Teacher will play a crucial role in supervising and monitoring children's activities to ensure their safety and well-being. This position requires planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that foster children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Additionally, the teacher will be responsible for teaching Mandarin Chinese in an immersion early childhood setting, which adds a unique aspect to our curriculum. The role also involves preparing and serving meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of the children, maintaining a clean and organized daycare environment, and collaborating with parents to ensure that their children's needs are being met. Keeping accurate records of children's daily activities and progress is essential, and the teacher will be expected to share this information with parents as needed. Participation in staff meetings and professional development training is also required to ensure that the teacher remains informed about best practices in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor children's activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Teach Mandarin Chinese in an Immersion Early Childhood setting.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks that meet children's nutritional needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized daycare environment, including toys, equipment, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure that their children's needs are being met.
  • Keep records of children's daily activities and progress, and share them with parents as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development training as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to complete all trainings required by DCYF.
