About the position

The Spanish Enrichment Teacher position at New Creations Child Care & Learning Center in Big Lake, MN, is a part-time role focused on providing enriching educational experiences to young children, specifically in the area of language. The teacher will be responsible for engaging students from infants to preschool age, helping them gain insight and knowledge into the Spanish language through a variety of planned, age-appropriate activities that align with the monthly curriculum theme. This role is designed to inspire children and foster their enjoyment and appreciation of learning a new language. The position requires the teacher to visit three different centers on a rotating weekly schedule, starting at 9:00 AM. The time spent in each classroom varies by age group, with infants receiving 10 minutes of instruction, toddlers 15 minutes, and preschoolers 20 minutes. The enrichment teacher will also be responsible for planning a balanced monthly program that incorporates the curriculum theme and integrates faith components, ensuring that the lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of various age groups. In addition to teaching, the Spanish Enrichment Teacher will create summary sheets of lessons with extension activities to send home with families, assisting site directors in planning, rehearsing, and directing students in events as needed. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to motivate children, demonstrate determination and perseverance, and exhibit enthusiasm and imagination in their teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Visiting three of the Big Lake centers on a rotating weekly schedule.
• Starting at 9:00 AM at the center and spending a portion of time in each classroom.
• Providing 10 minutes of instruction for infants, 15 minutes for toddlers, and 20 minutes for preschoolers.
• Planning a balanced monthly program that incorporates the monthly curriculum theme and integrates faith components.
• Differentiating curriculum to meet the needs of different age groups (infants-preschool).
• Creating summary sheets of lessons with extension components to send home with families.
• Assisting site directors by planning, rehearsing, and directing students in events as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• Degree in education or related field preferred.
• Must be teacher qualified under CHS Rule 3 standards.
• One year of experience in an Early Childhood Education setting required.
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferred.
